Privacy policy
Last updated: 16 June 2026
This policy explains what personal data NautiCheck collects, why, and what your rights are. It applies to the nauticheck.io site. We process your data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, when you contact us from the European Union, with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data controller
The data controller is the publisher of NautiCheck (see legal notice). You can contact us at any time via the Contact page.
Data we collect
- Account: email address and password (stored only in encrypted / hashed form).
- Use of the service: listing links you submit and analyses generated, linked to your account.
- Survey and contact: survey answers, message and email that you voluntarily send us.
- Technical data: connection logs, browser type (user-agent) and IP address. The IP address is never stored in clear text: it is hashed and used only for security and anti-spam purposes.
Purposes and legal bases
- Provide the analysis service and manage your account — performance of the contract.
- Ensure security, prevent fraud and spam — legitimate interest.
- Improve the product — legitimate interest; optional survey subject to your consent.
Recipients and processors
We do not sell your data and do not display any targeted advertising. We use providers strictly necessary for the service:
- An artificial intelligence provider: the content of the listings you submit is transmitted to it in order to produce the analysis.
- Our host (in Switzerland): site hosting and encrypted backups.
Transfers outside Switzerland / EU
Artificial intelligence analysis may involve a transfer of data to a provider located outside Switzerland and the European Union, in particular to the United States. We ensure these transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards.
Retention period
Account data is kept as long as your account is active. You can request its deletion at any time. Technical logs and anti-spam data are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
Cookies
NautiCheck only uses cookies strictly necessary for its operation: a session cookie (to keep you logged in) and a security cookie (protection against CSRF attacks). We do not use any advertising or analytics cookies. These essential cookies do not require a consent banner.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and port your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent. To exercise them, write to us via the Contact page.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, Switzerland) or, in the EU, with the competent data protection authority (for example the CNIL in France).
